Pattern Name/Number Kid's Messenger Bag
Pattern DescriptionWhich view and size did you make? n/a
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
If not, why? -
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
If not, why? The strap instructions do not say to fold it again along the original fold line, but that was the only part that might be confusing for new sewists.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked that I didn't have to do the math to make the bag. I couldn't find the bag I drafted a few years ago. This one worked great. It is a little small, but it is good size for a small kid. I like the comfy strap, too.
Fabric used Black twill and dragon woven
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made or would recommend I added a snap so that the birthday boy's toys would not fall out of the bag. I also used fusible fleece instead of batting, but the two are basically the same.
I didn't care for how the tutorial had you leave turning room at the top of the bag. Instead, I left turning room in the lining. Make sure to leave about 4-5" of turning room since it ends up being a tight squeeze.
Would you sew this pattern again? Yes
Would you recommend this pattern to others? Yes
Any additional comments It makes a cute gift.
