I really like these shorts. I can think of all sorts of ways to modify them too. I made these with corduroy. The middle stripe has the corduroy going horizontal rather than vertical. I did one snap in the middle of the pocket flap rather than 2 buttons on the sides.

#13 from 3-11, the lazy version. Only went to the second tier, but didn't make it a separate piece, skipped the faux fly, and did snaps instead of buttons.

These are soo cute! I made these for my nephew so I can't speak to sizing but they look comparable to the other shorts I have made him. These are not a good use of Stash Game time as the topstitiching is so tedious! But it is all worth it. I added the side pockets and used 2 snaps on each pocket instead of buttons as I didn't have 4 matching buttons. I will def make a few more of these in the future.
I made a size 86 straight off the pattern.
