Press this seam flat with the tip of your iron.
Trim the SA underneath to approximately 1/4". It doesn't have to be exact. You can just use scissors if you'd like since we're doing it to eliminate bulk.
You cal also trim up along the edge if you'd like. (Or wait until the whole block is finished.) For this, I use my ruler and rotary cutter.
Lay the part for section 3 on top of section 3 right sides together. Be sure to leave enough for a SA, and sew the seam.
Press it open. Trim SA underneath.
Repeat the process for each section.

Trim down the completed block.
