Cute design, but pattern runs very wide. I used size 92 for a stocky 3 1/2 year old. Check length as well, they're definitely "long" shorts. Lots of cute details, has mock fly and separate waistband.
Back view, I used pockets from another pattern rather than the faux flaps in this one:

I think this is my favorite shorts pattern from ottobre that I have made AND my 1st attempt at ottobre. They come together very well, I did add some funky pockets on the lower back legs for color that weren't on the pattern.

These do run really long, my son insisted I shorten them. I probably cut off and/or hemmed under at least four inches. Size 104 for my kid who hit 104 this summer:

Did these again, still size 104, lengthened to be pants, but added the roll-up tab and back pocket details from #32 in the same issue. My kid has gotten taller, but not any wider, in the last two years! I cut the waistband piece too narrow, but other than that, these turned out pretty nice!
