I sewed this up thinking I'd make one because DD would like, but not expecting to like it much myself. Then I saw DD wear it. This might be the cutest shirt I've ever seen! Turns out I like it just as much as she does. The construction is pretty straighforward, though I left the middle ruffle edges raw and coverstitched the middle ruffle on instead of following their directions. The fit is fantastic - I did add a bit of length, more so that it would fit longer than because it was really needed.

The only problem was that DD was quite displeased about now being able to see the ruffles and kept insisting on wearing it backwards, which led to this ruffled extravaganza.
Sewing, running, and yoga loving mom DS#1 (6) , DD (5), and DS#2 (3).
in 104cm, fits great! I think though next time I will make ruffles at the front as well. DD wasnt happy that she cant see the ruffles.

According to my daughter, this is her most favorite shirt ever!!!
She wanted it on hot off the machine and wants me to wash it right away so she can wear it again. And again.
This is is the Peacock tunic from 1/2011 (The skirt is from that issue, too. It's not meant to go with the shirt, but you know how kids are.)
Pardon the broken finger, poor kid.
And here's the back (she was tilting her head back, so that's why her head looks so weird)

Ottobre 1-2011-20 shirt and 1-2011-17 leggings. Size 122cm. A tad too big, but she's overdue for a growth sprurt anyway. The sleeves aren't really that long, she's hiding her hands.
Blue polka dot fabric is Chez Ami jersey and pink fabric is mystery cotton lycra from my Mom. She loves this shirt.

Applique detail. DD picked the buttons and decided on their placement.
