Re: Design 36 Donny duffle coat
On the advice of a friend who had made the smaller version of this coat, I added 2 inches to the front of the hood to make the hood deeper. I also chose not to piece the back lining pieces together. Instead, I taped the pattern pieces together and cut it out as one piece.
I used wool melton as my outer fabric and made a quilted lining from thinsulate and lining fabric. I had a hard time finding toggles/patches locally so I ended up ordering them online.
I made a size 134 for my tall, skinny 12 year old but the length of the sleeves and coat is a 152.
