Pattern Name/Number 1/2010 # 14- corduroy coat
Pattern Description "Veriksenmarja" corduroy coat
Which view and size did you make? 110 with extra length
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
If not, why? -
Were the instructions easy to follow? No
If not, why? I really struggled with the directions for the lining. I am a very visual person, and I could have used some pictures of the inside or extra instruction. If you are good with text, this will probably be just fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This coat makes a great girly coat. The pleats, tabs, and large buttons are great details. The fit was good. The lining was fiddly, and I had trouble getting it lined up easily. I am not sure if that was a personal issue or a size 110 issue. I have read reviews that the smaller sizes worked easily.
Fabric used fine whale corduroy and Lisette poplin for the lining
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made or would recommend I lengthened the bodice by 1/2" and lengthened the sleeves and skirt by 1 inch. This coat is longer, as drafted, for the bigger sizes. The picture makes you think that it will be short, but the size 110 is decently long.
Would you sew this pattern again? Yes
Would you recommend this pattern to others? Yes
Any additional comments She is in the last size of this pattern, but it makes a lovely coat.
She wears a size 92-98 width/116 length, and the fit was great as a 110 width with extra length.
