    Maternity/regular panties

I put my pattern for maternity or regular (low front) panties in the downloads section today. There is a separate file with written instructions. Sorry, no photos today. I hope to add the photos as soon as I am able to document the process next time I make them. These are sized for me, a women's US Large, about 12/14 RTW? I wear usually a large in S/M/L sizing in undies.

Here is a completed photo from last time I made these:

These look so cute and comfy! Thank you for posting the pattern.

Do those of you who sew undies find that they are cost-effective after sourcing the materials? Of course they are much better looking and probably fit better than anything you can buy....

Ok, as a mama who still has 4 months to go till this baby gets here and for sure in need of new panties, I am loving this idea! I think I am totally going to try that out! Off to check downloads!

I don't buy things typically specifically for undies, at least not fabric. I do undies to use up knits I already used for other things. The elastic I get in by the pound bundles from Kathy's Lace and Elastic online. Because of those, yes, undies are cost effective for me. I don't know that they would be if you were buying materials for them and not otherwise using those materials, but possibly, depending on the style and where you are currently shopping. If you are recreating a VS pair or other pricey brand (think lace, satin), I can't imagine it not being cost effective. If you are currently shopping at Wal-Mart for undies, sewing them probably isn't cheaper.

Thanks TanyaMT, that makes perfect sense. Good tips on where you get your elastic!
