I am fantastic at starting projects. A little too good, sometimes. My UnFinished Objects pile is growing…
After the Jalie hoodie I made last week, I cut out another with the shawl collar. Then I had a thought that I should put an embroidery on it. I set it to the side because that meant finding/choosing just the right thing. Not a good idea, since it is still sitting on my cutting table.
In the meantime, I decided to make a top with the fabric I posted about the other day. I traced out the pattern and cut all the pieces. My machines are in the basement, which is also home to the big tv. Unfortunately, the time I have available for sewing has been colliding with the time others want to use the television space.
Wanting to do something, I started tracing out a pattern from the latest women’s Ottobre magazine. See what’s happening here? I’m just creating more UFOs!
I attempted to do something about this yesterday. I brought my serger upstairs to my office and started to assemble the top I cut out. But now I am at the point where I need to use the sewing machine. And the serger on my cutting table makes it difficult to proceed with the Ottobre pattern. So, today, I’m making time to at least get this top finished and get my serger back downstairs because this mess on my table is making me twitchy!
