NObody's made this yet? I'm working on it and so far it's going OK, but I am having trouble making sense of the construction of the bottom rib band and how it hooks onto the shirt part. Wish there was a pic of the inside of it.

I figured out the band but I'm at a loss to explain it in text.

Re: Design 14 Hooded sweat jacket

Overall happy with this pattern - a little boxy which I don't mind for a boys jacket, but if I were making it for a girl I'd take some width away. I added about an inch length to mine - the fit was okay without the added length, but there wasn't much growing room which I want if I'm going to sew a jacket! I couldn't make heads or tails out of the hood instructions, and really didn't feel like handsewing a hood on anyways, so I ignored their directions and just did it my way.

Since I was sewing with fleece, I added about an inch width to the "ribbing" for the cuffs and about 2 inches to the "ribbing" for the hem.

One of my favorite things about this jacket is the hood - SO cozy and a spot on fit. On the whole I'm very happy with the pattern. I made two, one for my son and one for his friend, and they both think they're really comfy. I only did the waist detail on the first, as I decided it was more trouble than it was worth. I ignored the directions on that too, and just serged up and over, folding the fabric out like you would to do a v-neck so it didn't catch.

I am cutting this out right now. I'll definately narrow it down for my skinny DD.
