Great job! I did a single layer one a few weeks ago! I had to figure it out the hard way. Glad to see I did it right :)

Very nice, easy skirt! Looks great Mel!
Thanks. . .just what I needed!
This is great. I love how comfy yoga pants are, so I bet this skirt would be super comfy. Think I will need to try it this weekend. Thanks
Yay! I am going to have to try this!
subbing so I can find this when I have time to sew my skirt! :)
No need. It is in the free patterns section for adults. :cheerful:

This is saving my bacon tonight. THANK YOU!
Thanks Mel--this is great :cheerful:
I love it! Thanks for posting. My new job will have me going back and forth between the office and the classroom so this would be perfect.
i am most excited about looking for the ez hem tool. Never seen that before!
I made one of these a few weeks ago that I got from the pattern section and it came out great!
This tutorial is fabulous! I just made one (my first clothes sewn for myself since I was about 12) and it was so straightforward! I'm making one for my SIL for her birthday next and will probably make another couple for myself after that. I don't have any summer maternity clothes and this will be perfect for the second/third trimester and early postpartum time. Then next year I'll make smaller ones for my hopefully smaller self.
Thats great. I always wanted to know how to get the measurement for the waistband like that. THANKS!
How cool! Thank you!!! :yeadance:
I have a beginners question regarding this skirt. Since the wiastband is smaller than the skirt when sewing together do you stretch the band to fit as you sew or do you ease in the skirt fabric. Thanks
You stretch the knit waistband until it is the same length as the cotton skirt. This is why it is very important to mark you quarter points. That tells you how much to stretch. :)
Okay Fantastic that is what I did! I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Now I can share on the runway.
Thanks, Mel
Ok, I tried it and I had the hardest time getting the waistband to line up with the marks. I ended up giving up and just doing a single layer skirt. Maybe it is because my hips are SO much bigger than my waist and it had trouble stretching?
