Velour
A knitted version of velvet. Smooth on one side (looks like jersey) with a soft pile on the other. Velour is most commonly 80% cotton/20% polyester. The polyester is the backing, the cotton is the pile. Can be used for clothing and diapers.

Velvet
A woven fabric with a dense, short pile from the warp threads, which are cut, and a plain back.
