A group that gets together to purchase something at a discounted price.

Corduroy
A fabric, usually made of cotton, utilizing a cut-pile weave construction. Extra sets of filling yarns are woven into the fabric to form ridges of yarn on the surface. The ridges are built so that clear lines can be seen when the pile is cut.

coverstitch machine
a sewing machine that looks similiar to a serger, but it only has one looper. It's main function is to hem knit items. It give you a 2 - 3 straight stitches on top, with looped stitching on the back, so the hem will still stretch. Look at the hem on a ready made t-shirt. This is done with a coverstitch machine.

Double Knit
A jerseylike fabric knitted on a machine equipped with two sets of needles so that a double thickness of fabric is produced in which the two sides of the fabric are interlocked.

Dry Felting
The process of binding and shrinking wool fibers together using a barbed felting needle.

Elasticity
The amount of stretch and recoil that a material (such as elastic or a stretch fabric) has. The tendency of a fabric to return to its original shape after it has been stretched.

Embroidery
An embellishment of a fabric or garment in which colored threads are sewn on to the fabric to create a design. Embroidery may be done either by hand or machine.

Eyelet
A woven fabric with a design embroidered throughout, usually in a floral design that incorperates small holes bound in thread.

Facing
A piece of fabric that is sewn to the collar, front opening, cuffs, or arms eye of a garment to create a finished look.

Felt
A non-woven fabric made from wool, hair, or fur, and sometimes in combination with certain manufactured fibers, where the fibers are locked together in a process utilizing heat, moisture, and pressure to form a compact material.

Fiber ReactiveDyes/Procion Dyes
Dyes used on natural fibers for a variety of applications: tie dye, LWI dye, batik, silk dyeing, wool dyeing and more. The procion dyes actually bond to the fabirc fibers so they are perminant and do not fade in the wash. Fix with Soda Ash for best results.
