| A warp knit fabric in which the fabric is formed by interlooping adjacent parallel yarns. The warp beam holds thousands of yards of yarns in a parallel arrangement, and these yarns are fed into the knitting area simultaneously. Sufficient yarns to produce the final fabric width and length are on the beam. Tricot knits are frequently used in women's lingerie items such as slips, bras, panties, and nightgowns. | |

| a basic fabric weave where the filling yarn that runs the width of the fabric goes over and under two or more warp yarns that runs the length of the fabric. This creates a diagonal pattern. Twill fabric can also have a herringbone pattern. Any fiber can be used for a twill weave. A twill weave is soft and durable. |

| Twill weave is similar to a satin weave in the sense that the loom is floating the warp or weft yarns over yarns of the opposite direction, but with a twill the yarn is only passing over two of the opposite yarns. A twill is distinctive by the diagonal lines that appear in the fabic. A twill weave, like a satin weave, usually results in a softer fabric than a plain weave. | |
