View Full Version : Minky and Flannel baby blanket

Here is my tutorial for making these baby blankets. I use 1 yard of each, plus a package of satin bias binding. They are so soft and just the right size for babies and little toddlers.

I have made quite a few of these! They get easier, after you get the technique down with how to get the binding on without getting wrinkles. One thing I didn't note in the tutorial, is when you put the flannel and minky together, put it so the stretch for both goes in opposite directions. That way you don't have one side that is stretching and the other that doesn't. It helps it go smoother that way.

Thanks, I've got several pins for these, but I love your sewing so I'll use your method! Those all look yummy, but the Sherpa one is mine.

They were all so soft and comfy! The sherpa one went in a gift basket for a school auction. It was more of a lap blanket, since it could have gone to just about any age for that one. :)
