3109 - Boy's PJs Pattern Description
Pattern for button-up shirt boy's pyjamas from woven fabrics, variation in length of sleeve and pants, variations on collar style. Which view and size did you make?
View B, size 4 (collared shirt, long pants) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Pretty easy to make, but having just prior finished an Ottobre collared shirt (from 3/10 #23), I much prefer that method of attaching and finishing the collar to the one Butterick uses, which involves snipping the seam allowance on the middle part of the collar, folding it up into the collar itself, then slipstiching by hand to close up the opening. This leaves a raw edge just under the fold-back self-facings. Fabric used
Quilter's woven, from Timeless Treasures, I think Pattern alterations or any design changes you made or would recommend
See above about the collar.

Additionally, I had to cut the self-facings for the fronts of the shirt separately from the shirt fronts themselves because I didn't have *quite* enough fabric. This may have contributed to the facings not laying very nicely when folded back into place, but I do think I was very precise with my cutting. I had to hand tack the tops of the facings to the shoulder seams to stop them laying all wonky. Would you sew this pattern again?
Yes Would you recommend this pattern to others?
Yes Any additional comments
Overall, this is easy to make, could definitely be made for a girl, instructions are clear, techniques are simple. I would just use a different technique for attaching the collar next time.

Also, the fit seems pretty true-to-size, based on the heights given on the envelope. My kid hasn't tried them on yet (birthday surprise!) but they match up pretty well in terms of length with RTW PJs that are size 4 or 4T. Did you SNS what you made from this pattern? ETA: Same pattern used for these PJs (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/quartercentury/Sewing%20projects/PC223644.jpg), a bit of length added, a different view for these girly ones (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/quartercentury/Sewing%20projects/PC223645.jpg), and same again here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/quartercentury/Sewing%20projects/bc75c56e3ba86392d929 8c8ae08d40ee_zpsa392 5724.jpg) - still size 4, but lots of length.
