It doesn't seem to search the forums. It searches the site content, but not the forums (at least from the looks of it). I tried searching some things I KNOW are there (like "Monie" and "potholder") and nothing comes up.

I searched potholder maybe an hour ago and it came up with a bunch of hits from the forums.

Mine came up with zilch. Geez. Does yours look like it is just searching the site content? Is there somewhere to put in specific forums?

I figured it out. I was clicking on "Search" over there <-------------- under "Modules". When I use the Search at the top of the page under Control Panel, it works. Seems the other search doesn't do the forums.

Interesting, I've never used the search on the sidebar, only the one up above.

Editing to say that I tried again, specifying to search for potholder only in the filing cabinet and *it worked*! Woohoo! :blow

I think the other search is new since the site upgrade.

I tried clicking on the search above and cannot get ANYTHING to come up.

I used:

tote
bag
book

all things that should be here and I can't get anything to come up.

just FYI

The search ignores words 4 characters and less.

ok-so how do I find a tote that was made with a pocket to hold a book?

LOL

LOL, no clue. Its an issue. But if it searched for all words, you would get too many responses and it would take a long, long time.

I know! LOL
darn. are the parameters set that way (4 letters or more) because of a space issue?

Its because it would take a long, long time to search the database.

Search two words like book pocket.

Its because the number of words in the database would increase drastically. So words of a certain size and frequency are dropped automatically. For instance it would not suprise me if "thread" or "cloth" has been dropped. I assume it is used in quite a few messages.
