The Site FAQs are gone. Poof! I went to link to them today and it is totally empty. All the Sewing FAQs are there, but no Site. I really hope this is recoverable.

I may have back ups, and I think John does too, and maybe Nathan.

I don't know. I went today so I could link the "how to post a sig line pic" FAQ for BobbyJo and it was gone. I checked all the other modules and they are there.

I did the same thing when she posted that and noticed it was all gone. :/

I don't think I have them. I have downloaded so much in the past week or so that it most likely has been overwritten. I can ask John when he gets out of bed.
I may be off base here, but wouldn't that stuff be stored in the database and the code to call it be what I have in my site copy? How long does Nathan keep database backups?

Yes, its as I suspected. Its called from the database. So either the database is corrupted or gone or the SQL query is broken in the php-nuke code. I can look at it in a bit.
The SQL query was broken for the banners. Actually, it was requiring a value from a non-existant column value in the database.

Good news and bad news.....
All of the information is still in the database
But one of the tables is completely empty. Hopefully Nathan has a copy of the categories table. The table that we need restored is faqcategories

Why yes....I hear this stuff come forth from DH's lips all the time ;)
The last thing I did before I quit my job when I was pg with Alex was to design and set up a SQL (pronounced "sequel") database. Its kind of coming back to me.....kind of :LOL2

I probably don't have that table backed up anymore. Its a rotating backup. However, that table can easily be rebuilt. ;-)

Btw, thanks for getting that fixed. It was on my list of things to investigate because I noticed it wasn't working after I got the site up; and then boom it was working.. I was wondering about that!

So it's all back now?
I've been mia and will be for a while. Things are rough here, so I hope all will go well on the forums while I'm popping on and off

I believe so -- if not someone will have to let me know what else is broken. It appears that anything I didn't fix; xheathers and her husband fixed. Kudo's to them. :-D

Hey Nathan,
I noticed that in the faqcategories table there is a column called flanguage and its value is turkish. I don't think it should be turkish, that should be the default language, right? Sorry, DH is speaking at a conference this week, so you get some of my ummm idiot questions.
Thanks for the kudos. I'm trying to learn.
One thing that is not fixed and I can't figure out and my DH hasn't had a chance to follow the code around. When you hit "quote" in a PM, it ignores the HTML tags. You see them, but they don't actually do anything. It works fine on the boards. Any ideas? Everything looks the same from 7.5 to the 7.9 that I could see, but I have not followed the code everywhere yet.

It still wasn't there for me. Still blank, even after I refreshed a million times, logged out and back in and tried in IE and Firefox. So, I went into admin and changed the language to English and it shows up now.

Maybe I missed something but it worked for me. The only tags that are active currently according to the admin is: b,i,u,pre

It worked for you in the Private Messages? It works fine on the boards, but none of my PMs are showing up correct and I know Meg has the same problem. If I quote in a PM, it just shows the tags, but does not denote the quote.

It isn't working for me either and someone else PMed asking if I knew why hers wasn't working. We had different skins too, so it isn't a certain skin doing it.

If you don't mind my asking What is your DH speaking on/at?

Ah, I misunderstood what you were talking about. You were talking the actual BBCODE [ quote ] wasn't working properly...
Ok, it is fixed -- but it will ONLY work on new private messages -- it calculates the quote information at posting time...

DH works for Hewlett Packard. Its an internal conference about some of the new ideas and recently developed products. Huge deal, career wise. Its held annually, and all of the high level managers and CEOs are there. There are 10 speaking papers accepted out of 1100 and his is one of them. He holds a couple of patents through HP. The lastest that he designed is a program that allows you to take any actual virus, drop it into this program, it analyzes what it does, tells you what it does and spits out a bootable clean up tool program. That is what he is going to be talking about here. He has taken it a couple of steps further, but those patents are scheduled to be filed on April 14th. He also holds joint patents with HP Labs over some programs he jointly developed with them for network security. Those basically search out any unusual traffic (or you can go looking for something specific), analysises the results and delivers a payload of your choice. Kind of a good worm/trojan.
His speciality is security. He dables in a bunch of stuff, but most of what he does is security related.

Wow, I'm have to say I am impressed with the virus analyser; why manually decompile it when you can stick it into a virtual machine that can log everything it does and then build a batch script to de-install it. Slick... Sounds like a really cool concept -- hope HP pursuses it.
Nathan.
