All the tiny pleats are a PITA but really cute when finished! Instructions are lousy regarding the buttonloops (they reference a pattern piece but don't give you one) so you sorta have to figure it out yourself.

Cute! I'm getting ready to make this and thinking I'll omit the back zip.

I think you can in a knit but in a woven, I would not omit the zip. The front opening is more decorative and the neckline fits pretty high.
