This the "jacket" ... I would call it a top!

I love that the body and sleeves of this are just one piece. Makes for pretty easy sewing. I experimented with the magazine's suggestion that the edges could just be serged, but my soft and stretchy fabric wasn't having it. And, as ever, my binding isn't perfect. Oh well. Size 56.

And the one on the top right here is the same pattern, but with short sleeves because I didn't have enough fabric to make long sleeves! I finished this one with FOE, which was slightly easier than working with fabric binding, but not very economical (almost a whole roll of the Babyville stuff from JoAnn). I did snaps on this one instead of ribbon ties, which wouldn't work with an actual preemie in an incubator, but should be OK for us.

The long sleeve one on my 52cm newborn. Fits just right, not a wee bit big like other size 56 garments I have sewn. So I am guessing really well sized for a preemie.
