I recently got a new dig camera, a canon rebel. For some reason they are saving on my computer as img_001, img_002, etc. and the gallery doesn't recognize them as valid files. My images that I had taken previously are uploading just fine. HELP!!

I'm wondering also. I gave up the first day I attempted.

Is it that there's no jpg extension on the file? Is it something you can change in the camera software program perhaps?

There is a .jpg extension. I'm gong to check my camera and see if there is a setting I should change on it, but I had thought any .jpg file should upload.

I know what the trouble is! You're trying to upload the raw picture, straight from the camera? You'll need to resize it, the file is too big. I've tried to upload a couple large pictures and the maximum file size was exceeded so it didn't work.

Okay, I'm going to resize one of them with paint shop pro now and try again. Thanks for your help, I've been feeling so frustrated.

It Worked!!!!! Yay! This camera must take bigger photos or something. I'm so relieved. Thanks again, and off to work I go.

Ok, now what about me!

#1, I couldn't even see the bottom bar with the upload option so I had to fuss to even get enough of it viewable to click

and I just figured out that the process is not don't until you click upload photos (which I couldn't see because some preview pop up was blocking it)

Is there a way to shrik the Gallery Remote box so all of the buttons can be seen at the same time????

I've managed to upload but it was a huge pitb not being able to view the buttons easily enough to know they existed.

I'm confused by your's Jenn. By "bottom bar" what do you mean? When you go in my gallery, there is a drop down menu in the top right corner. One of the options is "add photos". When I click that, it opens a small window in which I can easily see the options for uploading. I don't even have a preview pop up. Are you uploading in "form" or some other option?

Allison, I'll try to explain, but understand that in trying to do so the pop up did not complete the loading, then froze my computer and then cause IE to to shut everything down so I'm going to go for the explination one more time. :/

Yes, the drop down menu, add photos, then a pop up that adds something to my computer, this time I told the pop up after that to always accept that particular program so this time when I tried to back track to give you specs the name is not there. This time the pop up that added something is a pop under and the Gallery Remote is the actual page that has the Add Pictures, Sort, and Upload Picture at the bottom of the page where I could not access it. I've manage to get the page so the top bar is almost all the way off the top of the page (the blue bar that has the minimize, or maximize, and close X on it) and at that point that I did that I was able see the "Add Pictures, Sort, and Upload Picts" on the Gallery Remote. The bottom of that Gallery Remote window is still so far down (no scroll bar on it btw) that I can't even try to resize it, if that is even an option.

Point being that because I finally figured out that the Add Picts, Sort, Upload Picts buttons were hiding at the bottom I now know why I failed when I tried to up load orginally.

I can do it now. It was just not user friendly to find hidding buttons. Maybe I just need to get rid of some of the bars that I have on my screen (but I tried during this process and can't figure it out) ***ETA: The popup and popunder actually hide those extra bars I have so that's not part of the issue as I orginally thought it might be***

All in all I'm all set now but it was really frustrating to figure out kwim?

I think I get your problem. You must be uploading in applet big. After you open the upload box, look at the top of it. It should say "applet, "applet big", "form", "URL", and "other". Click the "form" one. Use that one to upload pics, it is much easier than applet and you don't need to allow the other program. When you open the box, it should go straight to form everytime.
